Art Therapy is the creative expression designed to improve emotions that hinder a person's well-being. According to the American Art Therapy Association, this particular type of therapy uses creativity to "help people to resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight."
My Help 4 Depression encourages the use of art therapy as a means of self expression to reduce stress, increase an individual's sense of satisfaction and accomplishment, to increase self-control and self-awareness as well as a method of communication. In order to promote the use of art therapy as well as assist individuals out of the isolation of depression, My Help 4 Depression accepts submissions of art by persons choosing to express their depression creatively.
We are excited about this latest project - the establishment of the first, (that we know of), online museum of depression. You may submit your original artwork to our sitemanager. My Help 4 Depression accepts written and visual expressions of creativity. While we reserve the right to accept work deemed appropriate and beneficial for the understanding of depression, submissions will be included in our online museum.
